Psychotherapy is a treatment where change can come through talking with a therapist.  With the help of a therapist you can understand and manage your feelings and behaviour in new ways which in turn can improve your relationships and change your perspective on life.

When trying to cope with and survive traumatic events we can develop unconscious patterns of behaviour which can make us unhappy and lead to repeated difficulties.  By thinking about these patterns with a therapist we can gain control over distressing thoughts and behaviours.  Through feeling acknowledged and listened to by a therapist, we can learn to listen to ourselves and worries can feel less overwhelming and more manageable.  With hard work and commitment the effects of psychotherapy can be far-reaching and life-changing.
